Review: Spider's Bite

Spider's Bite Spider's Bite by Jennifer Estep
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

First in a series about Gin, the elemental assassin, and her adopted brother Finn, the banker. A good starting point and introduction to the characters. The magic system is novel and very interesting. The love interest not so much. Personally, I don't get the whole "he loathes me, but he's so hot, I have to do him anyway" thing. It's cool that Gin knows what she wants and goes for it. I can get behind that 100%, I just wasn't all that taken with him. We'll see what the author has in mind as the story progresses.

I loved that Fletcher was reading, Where the Red Fern Grows. That's one of my all time favorite books. I am also in love with Sophia and Jo-Jo. I'm really looking forward to the next book but I'm pacing myself since I'm reading these as part of a challenge, so I'm not touching it until February.
