Witches Protection Program by Michael Phillip CashMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
What if witches actually existed? What if they were split up into two groups, good witches (Davina) and bad witches (Willa)? What if there was a secret group assigned to keep them in line, and make sure that regular people don't learn they exist? Those are the questions that Wes has to answer for himself. Wes is a law enforcement agent from a long familial line of agents. Unfortunately for him, he's not very good at it and his dad is the boss. Dad gives Wes one last chance to prove himself by assigning him to a new squad. On his first day at the Witches Protection Program, he thinks it's all a big joke. That is until Wes and his new partner root out a scheme designed by a Willa posing as a Davina to capture the hearts and minds of humanity. It also doesn't hurt that one of the witches needing protection is a Davina that captures Wes' heart.
This book is at turns both action packed and funny. Wes has believable flaws that make him realistic and interesting. His struggle to find the truth of the situation and alter his belief system makes him human and that makes him likeable. It's hard not to root for Wes as he strives to make his father proud.
