Review: The Seventh Bride

The Seventh Bride The Seventh Bride by T. Kingfisher
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Not terrible but not great. The Seventh Bride is a retelling of the Blackbeard fairy tale. Old dude claims young girl for his bride. Parents can't do much about it because he's a noble and they aren't. He asks her to his mansion, then promptly disappears on business, she discovers that the women she thinks are servants are actually his wives. Each of which he has stolen something from because the marriage contract allows him complete dominion over them. The young girl must thwart his plans. Pretty standard fairy tale stuff.
