Pokergeist by Michael Phillip CashMy rating: 3 of 5 stars
When Telly loses his job in IT he decides he just has to follow his dream of winning it big playing poker. Unfortunately, he's terrible. He's not going to make enough to buy his way into the tournament. Until help arrives. Clutch was a championship calibre player who lived and breathed poker until his untimely death. Telly finds himself haunted by a ghost that is going to make him a better player like it or not. Clutch doesn't care about anything but winning, he'll destroy Telly's life if that's what it takes to get him to the table.
The byplay between Clutch and Telly is amusing, even if it does come off making Telly sound like a mental patient. He's constantly talking to and shouting at something only he can see. It makes it hard for him to interact with other characters.
This story is a fun, paranormal romp through the world of high stakes poker.
